Making and Understanding Art: A practical workshop
Saturday 29 June 10:00am - 1:00pm The Herongate Club
Discover the theory of great art and how to make it yourself in this interactive and friendly workshop.
Artist Challoner Spokes will take you through a brief history of art and the theory of composition and show you how to create artwork guided by these principles. You are then invited to create your own masterpiece based on what you have learnt. Beginners and all levels welcome.

Raise your awareness through Qi Gong
Saturday 29 June 2:00 - 4:00pm The Croft Field centre
Local Tai Chi teacher and artist Kate Duncan will help you raise awareness of your body, your senses and creativity through an experience of Qi Gong followed by optional observational mark-making.
Kate will lead you on an introduction to Qi Gong, the Chinese practice of body posture and movement, breathing, and meditation used for the purposes of health and spirituality which can be practiced standing or seated.
Then, as an option if you would like to stay and try for another 30 minutes she will introduce Chinese brushes, charcoal, inks and local natural materials to begin the practice of mark-making. You will discover how to create marks on paper in a technical and emotional response to your environment and the experience of listening to live music.
All ages welcome.
Tea Light Workshop

Make your own summer tea light to hang in the garden or use indoors, the choice is yours. Everything provided – jam jars, paper napkins, PVA glue, wire and beads (optional). Please wear old clothes. An activity for all the family.
Eco Craft Workshop
Saturday 6 July 10:00am - 12:00noon The Croft Field centre
Come and learn how to make eco bricks to keep plastic out of landfill and seed bombs to grow lovely wild flowers in your garden for the bees. Join in these family-friendly environmental activities. All ages welcome. Please bring along clean dry plastic including bottles, scissors and wooden spoons. Hosted by HEAT (Hungerford Environmental Action Team).
YOGART Story Telling with yoga and art
Sunday 7 July 10:00am - 12:00noon Hungerford Youth & Community Centre
Come and tell the tale, through yoga poses, of The Mountain Story set in an exotic land where plants, animals and people all live in harmony. After the yoga session the children will create & take home a piece of art work that has been inspired by The Mountain Story.
Suitable for children aged 6-11 years. Maximum of 12 places.

The Junk Drum Workshop
Sunday 14 July 10:00am - 2:00pm The Magistrate's Room
Learn and play in your own DIY RePsycle Junk Band.
Join the Junk Music Workshops with Rhythmologist, Paul Midgley. Workshops are complete with unique junk instruments including the colourful bike wheel drums, a hands free folk flute and Mr Punch's slapsticks (You can "Do It").
Find out how to make a drum from a bike wheel and then play and sing some fun rhymes and funky rhythms.
(May include batteries and a tiny bit of high tech music pedals). For all ages.
Join us on the carnival parade starting at at the John O’Gaunt School from 2.30pm for judging. Parade moves off at 3.30pm and finishes at The Bear at 4.30pm.
